The day started early. Too early, it seemed, for Caesars Pizza.
It was 9:15, and the pizzeria didn't open until 11. Their doors were open because the employees inside were making food and cleaning the floors.
I looked down at my phone, and plotted the coordinates for the next closest Caesars location. How long it would take me to get there? Would it detour from my route? As I was typing away, I hear a voice behind the counter.
"You waiting for pizza?"
I look at the man standing there, his white smile complimenting his golden brown skin. He looks at me, eyeing up my figure like an award winning casting director.
I nod my head.
"Pepperoni or cheese?"
He nods his head, then whips behind the counter in a flash. With his hands already assembling the ingredients, he looks at me with a smile.
"Give me ten minutes."
I met up with my friend Cary in Merina Del Rey. We met last summer, and have been friends ever since. The day I arrived, Cary had officially finished her Bachelors Degree. She was so excited, and I was grateful that she shared that moment with me.
