Daly City / Davis / Chico

"Hey Avery, I'm heading out to Daly City tomorrow morning. Want to ride with me for a bit?"

"Yes. Good good."

She pedaled with me to Davenport, then bid farewell. It was so nice seeing her smile again. The grey sky loomed above me, and the miles went fast without a headwind.

I had a slow leak in my rear tire, and with no bike shops nearby a fellow cyclist offered to help me put the tube under some water to find the problem.

Descending into Daly City. The climb stretched for a mile and a half, and it was a teeth-gritting-lowest-gear-cranking slugfest. I loved it.

Andrew from Warm Showers. Loved hanging out with him. Our conversations spanned hiking, minimalist sandals, and everything in between -- it was great having a lot in common.

The next morning we cranked over to the San Fransisco Ferry to catch a ride to Vallejo.

Fifteen miles in, the sun came out. Almost to Davis...I was cruising.

Minor setback with a nail blasting through my tire. No worries, but now I slightly get uncomfortable with railroad tracks.

No headwind. Literally flying on the flats.

Brian, Warm Showers. He's setting out on a cross country bike tour next week!

Finally made it to Chico.
